MARLOW FC appear to be over their teething problems after two wins in a weekend.
Having failed to take maximum points in any of their first four games, they turned the corner with a 2-1 victory at Rugby Town followed a 2-0 triumph over Aylesbury on Bank Holiday Monday.
New signing Lee Barney scored both goals against Aylesbury with Adam Richard and Dan Hicks netting in the impressive Rugby result.
Manager Mark Bartley said: “We’ve had a couple of good results and good performances.
“We drew two and lost two of our first four games, but I felt we were playing alright and just not getting the rub of the green. We’d been defending well but not taking our chances.
“We needed to pick up a couple of wins and thankfully we did that over the Bank Holiday.
“Marlow had never beaten Rugby in the league before and last season they spanked us 6-2, so I was really pleased with that win and on Monday I thought we were very comfortable. We didn’t look like conceding.”
On Saturday Marlow are in FA Cup action against Milton, who are a level below them.
Bartley said: “It’s about us, we’ve got to make sure we go there and do a job. We’ve got to play our game.”
