WASPS academy star Tom Howe has been in Romania this week representing England Sevens in the FIRA European Grand Prix.
The Marlow winger was joined in the England squad by Wasps teammate Piers O’Connor, and both will have their eyes on selection for the World Series in Australia coming up shortly.
England won their first two games against Wales and Georgia but ended day one with defeat to Belgium and then lost to Spain, Wales and Germany on day two to finish seventh overall.
Howe, 19, said: “Any sort of experience you can get is good experience, so going outside the box and playing a different sort of game is one way to approach things.
“At Wasps we have a good number of solid back three players so it is nice to get this particular game time and hopefully show them what I can do.”
