CHESHAM United are showing signs of finding their groove again this season after a summer of upheaval.

Manager Andy Leese said: “I don’t think we’ve turned the corner as such, because I actually think we are in the middle of a decent run.

Inih Effiong gave Chesham a tenth minute lead when he pounced on a mistake from Aylesbury, and Ryan Blake made it 2-0 from Smith’s cross after 17 minutes.

Aylesbury might have got back into it from the spot soon afterwards, but James Beasant made the save and on the hour the game was made safe by Toby Little’s goal.

Ryan Laville and Scott Thomas both scored in the final ten minutes to complete the rout, although the hosts might easily have scored four more times before the final whistle.

Leese said: “We controlled the game apart from for a few spells in the first half.

“But the second half was abit of a parade and we could have scored more.”
