THREE wins out of six is not a bad return when you consider Wasps have played Northampton, Saracens, Bath and Harlequins in their opening half dozen games.

But when you think they beat two of the above then three out of six suddenly looks one win short of what it should be.

Reflecting on the opening block of Premiership matches, Dai Young said: “I probably would have taken three wins but I wouldn’t have picked those combinations.

“We’re pleased to have beaten Bath and Northampton, but Sale was by far our worst performance.

“I knew the emotion for the Bath game would take care of itself, but my discussion before the Sale game was about making sure our intensity was right. But it doesn’t sit well with us when we’re expected to win and that’s the next stage of our development.

“Saracens have got used to winning. That’s something we haven’t got yet.”
