A NEWLY-formed Wycombe District side played their first match at the weekend and early signs are good after they held the champions to a 2-2 draw.
The new team has been set up by Dean Stenning, Head of Games at St Teresa’s School, and comprises players from schools from schools across the Wycombe District area.
They will play in the English Schools FA Berkshire District League, taking on teams from Potters Bar, Wokingham, Newbury, Swindon, Gloucester, St Albans, Portsmouth and Woking.
Wycombe will also play in the Shires Cup and have been drawn away at Gloucester in the opening round.
Stephen Evans and Harry Hoath scored in Saturday’s 2-2 draw, with Kai Sproate being named Man of the Match.
Meanwhile, Stenning is hoping to introduce a girls team to go alongside the U11 boys in the future.
