GREAT Marlow School Boat Club picked up where they left off last season with a string of fine results in their return to action in Bath.

They sent 50 rowers to the Monkton Bluefriars Small Boats Head, with GMSBC finishing first or second in every race they entered.

Notable victories came from the WJ14 coxed quad of Emily Dix, Sophie Martin, Millie Watts, Mia Taylor, coxed by Siofra Bracken, the J15 pair of Jamie Jack Westfold and Josh McKenzie, and WJ16 pair of Leanna Beswick and Amelia Bojarzin.

Meanwhile, the girls J15 coxed four also did well to finish second in the WJ18 event.

Head coach Fergus Murison said: “To return from our first head race of this season with so many crews performing well is great news for the club.

“Last year was one of our most successful ever and it is good to start this year as we mean to go on.”
