Jamal Khan will fight for a place in the finals of the England Boxing Junior Championships on Saturday.
The Cressex School pupil beat Nathan Mizan of Camberley Boxing Club in the quarter-finals on Sunday and will now head to Sheffield for the semi-finals tomorrow.
If the Repton Boxing Club member makes it through he will then advance to the final which takes place a day later on Sunday.
His dad, Istasar Khan, said: “He trains hard, he works hard and I’m confident he can achieve his goals.
“He has won it two years in a row, in 2013 and 2014, and I’m confident he can do it again.”
