Flackwell Heath manager Graham Malcolm will be without three key players in the next two matches as his team bid to continue their assault on four fronts.

The Heathens are marching towards the Hellenic Premier Division title and will contest the Berks and Bucks Senior Trophy final against Windsor in April.

Malcolm’s men can reach the Wycombe Senior Cup final with a win against Holmer Green on Thursday before they have the chance to move into the last four of the League Cup against Binfield on Saturday.

The Flackwell boss will however be without the suspended trio of Ashleigh James, captain Ben Sturgess and second top goal scorer Dan Burnell for both matches.

He said: “On Thursday, because of the rules of the cup that we’re in and the suspensions that we have, we only really have 11 first team players available. We can draw on our reserves, which we will.

“Saturday, we play Binfield in the quarter finals of the League Cup, one of the only teams to beat us this season, and we play that game without the three suspended players and one of my other regular players Joel Jacobs has to work on this particular Saturday.

“I’m grateful that the games aren’t league games, but on the other side losing the semi-final of a cup at Holmer Green in a night game in front of a few people isn’t what we want to do.

“We’ve got three main players that play every game not playing, so it’s going to be harder. Saturday will be even tougher because Binfield are in good form.”

Bracknell Town were swept aside 3-0 on Saturday as Heath racked up a tenth straight league win, taking the team to the top of the table for the first time this season.

Burnell was on target either side of a Joel Jacobs goal to hand Flackwell the victory – a win which means they now need only seven points from their final seven fixtures to take the title, provided that second place Highmoor Ibis win their three remaining matches.

Kidlington is the Reds’ next league game, next Tuesday, and a win against the third place side at Wilks Park would take them to within touching distance of becoming champions.

“A lot of the players would like to carry on not getting beat and I’d like to carry on and win the league. If we win then we’re only a win and a draw away,” said Malcolm.

“It’s just important to keep winning games, stay on top and keep up these performances. I think the levels are key because we’ve put ourselves in a situation now where we just want to keep the level up.

“That means just winning the game or not losing the games, and seeing it through to the end where, with a bit of luck, we may play the last two or three games when we will have already won the league. That would be fantastic. It would be so nice to be able to do that.”
