Matt Ingram will be raring to go when Wanderers return for pre-season training next Thursday, according to Gareth Ainsworth.

Rookie stopper Alex Lynch stood in for the 21-year-old after a knee injury sustained in a clash with Sam Wood on the last day of the season ruled him out of the play-off semi-final and final.

In Ingram’s absence Blues went onto lose to Southend on penalties at Wembley but the Blues boss says his No1 ‘keeper will be ready to partake in training right from the off ahead of the 2015/16 League Two season.

He said: “Matty will be fine to start pre-season. We haven’t done a training session yet but all the signs are that Matty Ingram will be 100 per cent fit to start training on the first day back, which is next week.

“Matty unfortunately missed out at Wembley. There was a chance of him playing but it was always a slim chance.

“We didn’t want to give too much away for the team selection in those games but it’s 100 per cent truthful when I say Matty Ingram will be fine to start pre-season with us.”
