Tyrrell Hatton shot a five-over par round of 76 in the final round of the BMW International Open to finish tied for 47th place.

The Marlow resident had been looking good for a strong finish in Munich before five bogeys and a triple bogey in the final 18 holes of the tournament dropped him down the order.

A birdie on the opening hole of round one got Hatton off to the perfect start and he carded three more before finishing one-under par after the first 18 holes following three bogeys.

Round two saw Hatton get off to a blistering start, carding five birdies in the first five holes.

A bogey on six threatened to halt his momentum but he stroked in two more on eight and 11 to leave himself six-under par through the first 12 holes.

But the Harleyford Golf Club member walked back into the clubhouse with a round of two-under after a double bogey on 13 and bogeys on 14 and 17.

The third round in Germany was by far Hatton’s best as he shot seven birdies en route to a six-under par 66, which featured only one bogey.

The 23-year-old began the final round tied for 11th but five bogeys in the first ten holes and then an eight on the par five 11th ended his challenge.

Hatton finished the tournament 12 shots behind eventual winner Pablo Larrazabal.

The Bucks golfer will hope to make the cut once again when he participates in the first round of the Alstom Open de France on Thursday.
