Amersham & Chiltern went top of the London South East Division One North with a crushing 54-12 win over Ruislip.

The home side scored eight tries including doubles by Andy Fluker, George Wood and Joe Butler as well as efforts from Dave Francis and Andy Zair.

Francis got the first after making a powerful run and Butler grabbed the second which owed much to his great supporting run to score under the posts.

In the second half Chiltern let loose and Butler grabbed his second early on before Andy Fluker, who had again kicked brilliantly, made it 32-5 with his first try of the day.

Ruislip hit back with a try but George Wood restored the Amersham advantage and Andy Zair added to it after fine work from the forwards let him in.

Wood got his second and Fluker completed the scoring late on with a lung busting chase that saw him reach an apparently over hit kick to dive over.

Chiltern will now look to build on their three point lead at the top of the table against Old Priorians this weekend.

Beaconsfield recorded a 15-9 win over local rivals Marlow as they moved up to second in the South West Division of the Southern Counties North Division.

In what was a closely contested match Beaconsfield extended their winning run to three games in the league.

They are now just a point behind leaders Reading Abbey while Marlow sit sixth in the table a further five points back.

High Wycombe were on the receiving end of a 52-0 away day trouncing at the hands of Leighton Buzzard.

Wycombe are second bottom of the South West One East division and have now lost three games in a row.

The manner of the defeat against a Buzzard side who sit eighth in the league will be a concern as they have been in patchy form and lost three of their previous four games.

Wycombe will look to recover from the defeat in their next fixture against Witney. It will be a hard task though with Witney third in the table with three wins on the bounce.
