It is fair to say that Paris Cowan-Hall is enjoying his second spell at Adams Park.

He has bedded back in at the club he left in January 2015 and netted a priceless winner at Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday.

A strong affinity with the fans has helped him settle and speaking after the win in East London he revealed the joy he takes in representing the Blues.

“It is very nice to be loved and is something I am sure we all enjoy. It is nice to be back and the fans singing my name gives me a warm feeling,” he said.

“It is nice to be back playing and the main thing for me was to go somewhere where I was going to be able to play. The gaffer was interested and I came back and have been able to get games.”

The tricky winger’s form before leaving Wycombe for then Championship Millwall was electric as he plundered five goals in six games.

He has taken time to get up to full speed since returning, thanks in no small part to playing just nine times in the first half of the season, but has looked sharp in his last two outings.

This improved form culminated in his headed effort on Tuesday night, and he offers a creative spark that has, at times, been missing from Wanderers attacking play this term.

His manager, Gareth Ainsworth, is aware of the dynamic play Cowan-Hall can offer in the final third and was happy to see him get off the mark.

“He is a fit lad and has been brought here to get goals, to get at people and to run at people. He still has more to come and he needs to get that little bit fitter as he hasn’t played regularly for a long time,” said Ainsworth.

“Paris has always had a swagger. It is a swagger I like to see, an acceptable swagger let’s put it that way. He is a confident boy, is willing to learn and works so hard. He deserved his goal tonight.”

Wycombe have struggled to score freely in recent weeks despite the Injection of direct running Cowan-Hall provides.

Ainsworth will therefore hope his prediction that the former Portsmouth trainee will only get better proves to be an astute one as the season reaches its climax.

The title of potential game changer is one Cowan-Hall is comfortable with and he claims he has always revelled in the more creative side of the game.

Cowan-Hall explained: “I think it is the reason that I have become a professional footballer, and being creative and doing things off the cuff is the reason I enjoy playing football.

“Attacking, getting at players, making and scoring goals is just the sort of player I am, and the sort of player I have always wanted to be and looked up to.

“Thierry Henry for example was my idol when I was younger and that is the sort of player I have grown up trying to emulate.”
