Wycombe Tigers will win their first ever piece of silverware since their formation in 2011 when their Under-18 and Under-17A teams go head-to-head in the South Bucks Youth League Cup Final.

In just their second season together, the Under-18s recorded a memorable 5-0 victory to book their place in the final, while their Under-17A counterparts saw off Balinger FC.

The final on Sunday, 1 May will be played at Tring Athletic FC and club chairman Ed Henderson is hoping for a large crowd to witness history being made.

Henderson said: “It's going to be a fantastic occasion, and one we are all looking forward to.

“Winning silverware is a great achievement regardless of the level of football, and to have two of our teams in the same final is something I'm extremely proud of.”

The Tigers’ Under-18s are managed by former players Elliott Scott and Callum Wetherall while Gus Burton and Dan Blackwell take charge of the Under-17s.

Chairman Henderson is pleased with the work the coaches have put in adding: “The coaches have worked hard this season, and have given up a lot of time.

“It's rewarding to see what a great job young coaches in the area can to, and to top off a fantastic season with some silverware is fantastic for all involved.”

Henderson formed the club with two friends while studying for his A-Levels at Royal Grammar School High Wycombe and is now studying at Birmingham University.

The club have had 168 players turn out in the Tigers’ colours since their debut season and have received praise from Barnet who approached them for a friendly with their academy side.

But, Henderson wants the club to keep moving forward.

"I want to keep growing the club, and occasions like this only help to do that,” he said.

“We are always looking to improve as a club, and ensure that the players have the best environment to play football in.

“Having two teams in the final means we're doing something right, and we are now just looking forward to the day."
