High Wycombe Phoenix Harriers had a weekend of huge success as 30 of their members recorded personal bests at the Bucks and Oxon County Championships.

The two day event saw athletes from under-13 to under-20 level compete in a wide range of sports.

Rollo Parry and Matilda Firth were among the top performers in the under-13 age group as they recorded personal bests in the 100m, 1500m and long jump and 100m and 1500m respectively.

Dominic Symonds’ superb runs in the 100m and 300m made him the pick of the under-15 boys and Emily Sanderson also secured personal bests in the equivalent girls’ events.

Ben Layne (400m), Fraser Kilsby (400m and shot-put), Masie Pennant (300m) and Ana Montgomery (1500m) all improved their best times in the under-17 age group.

Layne’s efforts also secured a first place finish which saw him come in one place ahead of team-mate Kilsby.

There were more positives in the under-20 men category as Kai McKenzie (100m), David Clark (1500m), Daniel Weathers (1500m), Louis Simmons (discuss) picked up personal bests.

The under-20s claimed further success in the 100m and 200m through Josh Parry’s golds. Tim Rogers (400m) and Dav Clark (800m) also came out on top in their events.

Clare Croome ran her fastest 400m time while Emma Delgado collected a silver medal in the 800m event.
