The Bucks Schools County Championships saw a number of Wycombe Phoenix Harriers athletes produce personal bests on Saturday with dominant displays.

Competitors from three separate age groups attended the competition in Milton Keynes where they took part in a multitude of events.

Michael Hall and Kristen Stilwell arguably enjoyed the most productive day as they competed in the junior boys and junior girls categories respectively.

Hall’s time of 37.8 seconds in the 300m was inside the English School’s qualifying standard, and he now holds hopes of being selected for the Bucks County team for July’s English School’s Championships.

Stillwell matched that achievement with a time of 4.48.4 in the 1500m and also has a chance of representing Bucks at next month’s championship.

Joe Styles also ran a PB in the junior boys 1500m and there was further success for Isabella Wijsman (1500m), Emily Sanderson and Milly Miller (both 200m).

Miller added to her 200m record in the long jump where both she and Cerys Vico claimed personal bests.

Hannah Wells picked up a duo of best distances in the shot-put and discus throw to complete the club’s success at junior level.

The inter boys 400m yielded a personal best time of 52.5 for Ben Layne, while Molly Durston was particularly productive in the inter girls grouping with records in the 200m and long jump.

Scarlett Storr also enjoyed a strong tournament as she recorded a personal best in the 300HU.

John Hampden student Jacob Sanderson enjoyed a double success with personal bests in the Year 7 800m and javelin.

Jemima Hay’s time of 14.6 was her best ever in the Year 7 girls 100m and concluded Phoenix’s success at the event.

Elsewhere, four of the club’s under-20 and senior members came away with medals from the SEAA Senior Championships.

There was gold for Dan Weathers (300m steeplechase), silver for Jordan Layne (400m) and bronzes for Caroline Parkinson (pole vault) and Robert Sutherland (triple jump).
