Wycombe Wanderers chairman Andrew Howard has successfully completed his first ever Le Mans 24 hour race.
Howard and his Beechdean Aston Martin Racing car recorded 318 laps during the event to finish in 36th position.
As well as the 36th placed finish in the overall standings the Beechdean car recorded an impressive seventh in the GTE Am class.
Finishing the race represents the realisation of a long-held ambition for Howard after he had admitted last week that his main objective for his debut at Le Mans was to simply see his car round safely.
The respectable finish saw Howard and fellow drivers Liam Griffin and Gary Hirsch come in some 66 laps behind race winners Porsche.
The race itself proved to be highly dramatic as Toyota let a more than one minute lead slip in the closing stages to hand Porsche their second consecutive victory at the event.
Toyota driver Kazuki Nakajima experienced a loss of power with less than 10 minutes of the race remaining to allow Porsche’s Neel Jani to complete one more lap and snatch victory.
