Wycombe Wanderers have been drawn against West Ham United, Coventry City and Northampton Town in the group stages of the EFL Trophy.

Each team will play each other once with Wanderers kicking off their assault on the trophy at Northampton on the week commencing August 29.

Wanderers' fans hoping for a trip to the Olympic Stadium will be disappointed, however, with United confirming all their matches will be played away from home.

They play Slaven Bilic's side at Adams Park on the week commencing October 10 before finishing the group at home to Coventry on the week commencing November 7.

The Hammers are one of 10 Premier League academy sides in the competition this year with the tournament consisting of a total of 64 teams.

Northampton’s inclusion in Wanderers’ group will see the Blues come up against last season’s League Two champions, while Coventry provide League One opposition.

The top two teams from each group will advance to a knockout stage of 32 teams.

The first game of the group phase of the tournament will be played on the week commencing August 29.

Any draws in the group stage will lead to a penalty shoot-out with the winning side taking two points from the match.
