Stoke Park’s Conor Gough is the Reid Trophy champion after beating competition from around the world to win the prestigious golf tournament.
The 13-year-old fired a two-over par score of 212 to see off the opposition and claim victory by four strokes at the Potters Park Golf Club in Hertfordshire.
Winning the English Boys’ under-14 Open Amateur Stroke Play crown put the finishing touch to a week in which he also won the BB&O under-15 championship.
The competition saw multiple Stoke Park members compete with Tom Gregory finishing tied 12th, Taylor Paul claiming 21st and Carl Banner coming in 61st.
The youngster’s displays delighted Stoke Park PGA professional coach James Jewell, who spared particular praise for Gough.
He said: “We are immensely proud of the performances in the Reid Trophy. Conor’s stands out, obviously, because it was such an emphatic, impressive win.
“We are also very proud of the overall showing of Stoke Park juniors. No other club demonstrated the strength in depth that we did and it augurs very well for the future.”
