CHESHAM United and Wycombe Wanderers will find out their opponents in the first round proper of the Emirates FA Cup this evening.

The Generals are the surprise package among the 32 qualifying teams to make it to the first round proper with the other 48 clubs from League One and Two after victory on Saturday.

Andy Leese's side made headlines last year when they knocked out Bristol Rovers in the first round and they are hoping to do even better this season after they beat Potters Bar Town 1-0.

Chesham got off to the best possible start when Drew Robertson tucked away a penalty on 14 minutes after full-back Benji Crilley was tripped in the box.

The home side should have doubled the lead just before half-time when Ryan Blake seized on a loose ball with an open goal beckoning but Bar defender Garry Jones was on hand to clear.

As tempers frayed, both teams were reduced to ten men.

First Generals midfielder Adam Martin was shown a second yellow card before Bar midfielder Will Wambeek was shown a straight red late on for a rash challenge.

But despite a nervy ending, Leese's team held on.

Meanwhile, Beaconsfield SYCOB were unable to join Chesham and Wanderers in the first round draw after their history-making run came to a crashing end at home to Brackley Town.

The Rams were thrashed 5-0 at home to to their higher placed opponents but were very much in the game until the 80th minute when Jimmy Armson added to Steve Diggin's early opener for Brackley.

Spirits broken, the Rams let in three more goals as the game came to a close with David Pitt, Claudio Dias and Lee Ndlovu netting in quick succession.

Chesham will be number 64 in the draw, while Gareth Ainsworth's Wanderers are number 47. The draw takes place at 7pm on BBC Two and the BBC Sport Website.
