Walking Football rolled into town recently as a festival of the sport took place at the Chesham Leisure Centre at the end of the last month.

The festival was organised by Matt Harrington, Community Sports Manager across Chiltern and south Bucks, and he was thrilled with how the event went.

He said: “Around 30 people attended on the day and it was a real celebration that took place.

“It was great that we could bring this altogether and everyone who took part said how much fun it was.

“Councillor Mimi Harker came down to support the festival and she was right behind a community event such as this.”

Harrington added that he would like to continue to put together festivals such as this to reach out to people who could participate at Walking Football.

He commented: “Events like this provides a great opportunity for people to play and meet each other and hopefully this is the first of many.”
