Tyrrell Hatton endured a frustrating time at the US Open when he missed the cut for the second successive major.
The 25-year-old went into the US Open having made a decent start to the year but found the long and brutal Erin Hills layout too much for him.
He played with Alex Noren and American Brandt Snedeker in Thursday and Friday but he shot a disappointing four over par 76 in the first round before a more respectable level par 72 in the second round.
However, that wasn’t enough to make the weekend and the Harleyford Golf Club professional took to Twitter to express his frustration.
He said: “Never going to score well when you can’t hole a putt/make a birdie.
“Frustrating opening round, didn’t play as badly as scoreline suggests.”
Hatton will now be returning to Europe to contest some big events before playing The Open at Royal Birkdale.
