Gareth Ainsworth is confident defender Anthony Stewart and winger Paris Cowan-Hall will be back for tomorrow's tricky trip to Port Vale.

Stewart has been nursing an ankle sprain and Cowan-Hall went off against Fulham at half-time after taking a blow to his back but the Wycombe boss hopes to be able to call on both players.

Other than Scott Kashket, Ainsworth has the rest of his squad fully fit and firing and will be hoping to build on last weekend's creditable draw with Lincoln.

Vale, meanwhile, have got striker Tom Pope back in their ranks who was prolific in his first spell at Vale Park.

Ainsworth will also be returning to Vale Park, after a successful year there is a player in the late 90s.

He said: "“It is a great place and I had a good year there.

"They played a huge part in my career in making that step up and they were a brilliant stepping stone.

"We really did upset a few of the big boys and that season was phenomenal and I can’t thank the club and fans there enough.”

Ainsworth joked: “I hope to get a decent reception from the fans but that may be before the game rather than after!”
