It’s not every day that you get the chance to see the Premier League Trophy first-hand, especially down your local pub, but that’s exactly what happened at The Black Cat in Chesham on Thursday.

Customers took on the Beast from the East to make sure they got their chance to see the trophy and have their picture taken with it - an honour usually reserved for the league champions.

The trophy’s visit also coincided with the Arsenal v Manchester City match on Sky Sports which was shown live in the pub.

Customers had Louis Smith, the licensee of The Black Cat, to thank for the Premier League trophy coming to the pub.  The trophy was part of the prize that he won in a competition run by Sky.

He also won six months free Sky, Sky WiFi and two Samsung HD TVs to screen all of Sky Sports’ unmissable live fixtures.

Speaking about the evening, Louis said: “As a diehard Chelsea fan, I was excited to have the Premier League trophy at the pub.  Quite a few people braved the elements to come down to The Black Cat and stayed on to watch the match, so it was a great evening.

"Having Sky in the run up to the end of the season will be great for our customers and we’ll be showing all the fixtures, along with all the other sports that Sky broadcasts.  The TVs will also come in handy for the World Cup when it starts in June – there’s nothing better than watching live sport in your local pub and soaking up the atmosphere.”
