On-loan defender Nathan McGinley explained he is loving life at Wycombe Wanderers as the young centre-half has come back into the side seamlessly.

McGinley, signed from Middlesbrough in January, has been outstanding for Wanderers this week, playing starring roles in the 1-0 victory at Yeovil Town and the 0-0 draw at Lincoln City.

Against the Imps, McGinley found himself up against one of the most fearsome forwards at this level, Matt Rhead, but the youngster did a sterling job in keeping him quiet.

In the white-hot cauldron at Sincil Bank, McGinley came of the pitch with a smile on his face and he explained that he absolutely loved the experience of a game like that so early in his career.

He said: "He is a physical player. You know what you are going to get with someone like Rhead. He is great in the air but it was a great experience for me to play against someone like that in front of a big crowd and I absolutely loved it."

This weekend, McGinley comes up against the League Two player of the season, Billy Kee, and once again he is relishing the task in front of him.

He added: "I am really buzzing for it and I am really excited and it will be another great experience for me.

"It is a massive game for us and if we get the win hopefully that will put us in good stead for the last two games.

"To be in my first professional season and in with a shout of promotion is absolutely unbelievable and I am loving life here at Wycombe."

In the last two games, McGinley has struck up an excellent partnership with captain Adam El-Abd and the 21-year-old praised the experienced defender for the help he has given since signing in January.

He said: "He is absolutely quality with me.

"Even everyday in training he is constantly helping me and talking me through stuff and he is an absolute pleasure to play with."
