Little Marlow's two matches suffered the same fate as nearly all those played last Saturday – abandoned due to rain at some point during the first innings.

Having inserted visitors Knotty Green on a hard, green-tinged surface, the first XI struck with the first ball of its league season when Ashish Patel fenced at a short one from Andrew St Maur and nicked it to keeper Tahir Rashid.

St Maur struck again 20 runs later when Jonny Patel lifted a catch to Danny Ishaq at extra cover. Matt Wilson then had Tommy Patel well held in the gully by Arfan Sharif before producing a beauty to clean bowl Dharak Pandya at 35/4.

Ross Kemp launched a counter attack, primarily in one over from Wilson which went for five fours and a six, all but one of them clean shots off the middle of the bat. He and Hiren Patel, (20*), shared 45 before Sai Pavan Kumar bowled Kemp for 35 shortly before the players were driven from the field at 97/5 from 23.2 overs.

The second XI also struck early at Littlewick Green when Ged Holmes trapped Will Neale in front with just three on the board. However, Bill Green and Simon Fuller took it to 65 before leg-spinner Awais Hussain removed the latter for 32 and Chris Leakey for three.

From 70/3, Green (35*) added 45 with Matt Gullick (25), who was bowled by Holmes immediately before proceedings were brought to a premature close at 115/4 from 29.1 overs.

On Sunday, Little Marlow were in action again. Batting first on a slow, damp pitch at Stonor, Little Marlow's Sunday team lost Danny Ishaq for no score when he clipped a gentle catch to mid-wicket in the fourth over. Imran Ishaq (23) and Arfan Sharif (16) shared 42 for the second wicket, but after they were separated Tahir Rashid dominated the remainder of the innings.

Partners came and went, some lasting longer than others, as he did nearly all the scoring. Latching on to anything remotely short, he hit 12 boundaries before holing out to deep mid-wicket for 66 in the final over.

Medium-pacer John Powell (3-17) and off-spinner Chris Maidlow (3-26 were the pick of the bowlers.

Stonor made a sound start in pursuit of Little Marlow's 150; Ian Cripps (15) and Noel Williams (11) sharing 33 for the opening partnership. However, after Arfan Sharif removed both only Marc Lovatt interrupted a steady fall of wickets, striking a robust 23 before being well held at deep mid-on by Imran Ishaq.

The penultimate partnership was broken with 25 deliveries remaining, but Powell and Richard Hunt held firm to secure a draw with the total on 112.
