After seven seasons managing the first team Giovanni Sepede has stepped down as manager of Penn & Tylers Green FC.

Alongside James Pritchard, co-manager for the last three seasons, the pair won back to back Hellenic Division One East titles.

Gareth Williams has been appointed as manager following his departure from Chalfont Wasps FC.  In the next week or so, Williams will be assembling his back-room team and start preparing for the season ahead.

Williams said:"When I was offered the opportunity to manage Penn it was an easy decision for me.  I have big boots to fill following Giovanni and James but I am joining an excellent club with great facilities the nucleus of a squad and the desire and support to bring continued success."

Chairman Tony Hurst added: "It was with a very heavy heart that we accepted Giovanni’s and James’s resignations.  When I appointed Giovanni seven years ago over a half pint in the local Red Lion Pub, I could never have predicted the unprecedented success he and James have brought to our club.

"He not only brought our first first team league title in 34 years, but amazingly repeated the feat the very next season as well! For that we will be eternally grateful.

"We now have to move on to a new era and are therefore delighted to have secured the services of a former Penn player and Chalfont Wasps manager, Gareth Williams.

"We once again met in the Red Lion Pub to ratify the appointment on Saturday. We have admired the work he has done at Chalfont Wasps and he was top of the list when we were considering a successor to Giovanni and James and we are all very excited as we look forward to working with him and his team over the coming months to bring continued success to the club.

"I would like to thank Giovanni for his input in making these changes as smooth as possible for the club. That was very welcomed and much appreciated so all the very best to you all and thanks for the happy lifelong memories.”
