A professional rugby player from Beaconsfield has spoken of his delight at signing for Wasps, the club he has supported since their days at Adams Park.

Ross Neal, 22, has signed for the rugby union giants after a hugely impressive season for London Scottish where he started every game and scored eight tries from centre.

Now, Neal has the chance to learn from the best and he told the Bucks Free Press he can't wait to get started.

He said: "I had a good year with London Scottish. I joined them from London Irish, after being their for three years and part of their academy.

"One of my coaches at Scottish, Jake Sharp, went up to Coventry and then I received a call from Wasps saying they were looking at me and asked me to come up.

"I am absolutely delighted to sign for them. I used to watch them at Adams Park loads when I was younger and can't wait to play for them."

Neal added: "It is a bit of a risk moving to a club with such good players.
"I know I have a lot of work to do to get a starting place but am looking forward to the challenge of playing with and against the best."

With the season now finished and not due to begin pre-season until the end of June, Neal explained he was in two minds whether a break was a good thing.

He said: "I need some rest and recuperation but part of me wants to get cracking already with Wasps."
