Wanderers captain Adam El-Abd has extended his contract at Adams Park for a further year after helping the Chairboys reach League One in his first season with the club.
The defender, 33, clinched a fifth promotion of his career, playing 43 times in all competitions after signing an initial two-year deal last summer, having left Shrewsbury Town on a free transfer.
El-Abd will now remain with the Wanderers until June 2020, and boss Gareth Ainsworth says he’s pleased to tie his skipper down for a longer stay with the club
He said: “Adam made a fantastic impact on the squad from the moment he joined and his performances on the pitch, coupled with his leadership and character off the pitch, have made him a hugely important member of the whole club.
“He has played most of his career at a higher level and that experience will be invaluable for us as we look to build on the progress we’ve made and establish ourselves in League One.”
