Following a series of midweek and weekend defeats Marlow had a stylish win in the first leg of the Jubilee Cup at a warm and sunny Chesham last week.

Three of Marlow’s rinks etched out wins but the top rink was Clive Brown, Ann White and Ian Burns.

Despite dropping five shots in the first two ends they powered to a 13-5 lead then blasted 18 shots in the last five ends for a big 38-9 win.

There were wins for skips Doug Pounds and Clive Brooks to give Marlow a convincing 93-61 success.

Amersham hosted the Marlow bowlers last week and gave the visitors a bit of a roasting. Marlow had two winning rinks but Marlow were savaged on the three remaining rinks and suffered a big defeat 64-120.
