World Cup fever has hit the country as England prepare for their first semi-final in the competition for 28 years.

With the squad performing brilliantly throughout, some of their star players have played against Wycombe Wanderers and at Adams Park in the past few years.

Defender Harry Maguire, who now plays for Leicester and who scored the first goal against Sweden on Saturday, played twice against the Blues in the 2011/12 season.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, now of Everton, played on loan at Burton Albion against Wycombe at Adams Park on October 5, 2013.

Dele Alli, who scored the all-important second goal in Saturday's quarter-final, came off the bench last season to score Spurs' equaliser in that incredible FA Cup fourth round match at White Hart Lane on January 28, 2017. Kieran Trippier and Eric Dier also played in that match.

Burnley's Nick Pope, understudy to Pickford in this World Cup, played for York against Wycombe on March 15, 2014 and for Bury against the Blues at Gigg Lane on January 17, 2015.

Leicester's Jamie Vardy played against the Chairboys for Fleetwood on November 12, 2011.

In addition to those playing against the Blues, Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson, Jack Butland and Danny Rose all played at Adams Park for England U21s against Romania in March 2013.
