Copsey: Coventry move vindicated

WASPS chief executive Tony Copsey says the decision to play Saturday's Heineken Cup game against Munster in Coventry was vindicated.

More than 21,000 supporters packed into the Ricoh Arena to see Wasps edge their Irish rivals 24-23 in a thrilling game.

Copsey said: "We've doubled our home record in the Heineken Cup, so that's very pleasing.

"We said all along playing in London would have been preferable but this is the venue we ended up with and having over 21,000 people here was fantastic.

"We had some opposition from season ticket holders but on these occasions you to consider all sorts of options.

"The reality is it's a commercial upside for us, you can't ignore that in modern business, and we wanted to put on a big occasion as well."
