HERSCHELLE Gibbs had nothing but praise for the Wycombe attack despite blasting 16 boundaries in an innings of 104 against them for Lashings last Friday.

The South African with 13,620 international runs to his name said: "Wycombe's attack is quite good. It's got a lot of variety and they know what they're doing.

"They kept it quite tight and there weren't many bad balls to hit."

Unfortunately for Wycombe, Gibbs could hit the good balls just as easily and one straight six nearly smashed the windscreen of one of Lashings' sponsored Chrysler cars.

He said: "I hit it well but then saw it heading straight for the car. I don't know whose it was because they're all the same, but I just put my hands on my head and hoped.

"It kept swinging in the air and lucky for me it just missed, it took a coat of paint off though.

"It was a good day though. It's a great setting with a good crowd and it's nice to put on a bit of a spectacle.

"This is just a bit of rest and relaxation for me before I go back to work in a few weeks, but it's always nice to get 100. It's been a while since I got to three figures."
