THE RGS Cricket Festival gets underway on Monday with High Wycombe hosting teams from Newcastle, Lancaster, Worcester, Guildford and Colchester in a tournament they have yet to win.

Led by George Walker, High Wycombe start their challenge against Lancaster at Amersham. Walker was named player of the tournament last year, three years after his brother Luc picked up the same honour.

Wycombe’s next match promises to be even tastier as it pits two Wycombe RGS old boys against each other. The hosts, coached by RGS old boy Steve Noyes, will take on Worcester at High Wycombe CC.

Worcester are coached by Phil Newport, an RGS old boy and former High Wycombe CC player.

The RGS team is: George Walker, Ram Kumar, Burhan Mirza, Ian Cottam, Will Buckfield, Joe Kelleher, Tom Francis, Chris Elder, Hugo Jafari, Jonny Collin, James McCue, Tom Hemmings, David Heavyside, Matthew Noyes.
