Taylor wants a quick-fire hat-trick in the transfer market

WANDERERS boss Peter Taylor signed Chris Westwood from Peterborough yesterday and then set himself the target of signing three more players before the team leave for Devon on Monday.

He wants to complete his team strengthening before the Blues kick off in the Errea South West Challenge next week.

The Blues face Bideford on Monday at 6pm and then play Luton at Appledore on Friday, at 8pm, and Taylor wants his full squad assembled for the week away.

He is confident of making another new signing today, bringing his tally up to four following the captures of Westwood, Joe Cobb and Lewis Montrose.

He said: “I have given myself a big job because I have only got a couple of days to do it in, but I would like to have everyone together by then.

“I want to take at least 22 to Devon and take near on the full squad for next season.”

Taylor signed Blues up for the Errea Challenge because he saw it as the ideal opportunity to combine training, matches and team bonding in one hit.

The Blues will have all their expenses paid throughout the week as they bid to reach Saturday’s semi-finals and then Sunday’s final.

They will be joined in the competition by Championship side Blackpool as well as fellow Football League sides Exeter City, Yeovil, Grimsby and the Belgian outfit Royal Racing Montegnee as well as some non league clubs.
