Bookies offer 25-1 on Blues becoming Wycombe Wasps

WANDERERS are 25-1 shots to be renamed the Wycombe Wasps by the end of 2010 following the club’s takeover by Wasps owner Steve Hayes.

The multi-millionaire businessman, who seized control of the rugby club in January, completed his double on Monday night when his £3m takeover of the football club was approved.

Hayes has already underlined his commitment to seeing his two clubs sharing a new 20,000 capacity stadium.

Bookmakers Skybet responded to his instalment as double owner by pricing the name change up at 25-1.

They have also got Blues manager Peter Taylor at 50-1 to be replaced by England rugby’s World Cup winning manager Sir Clive Woodward by the end of 2010.

Meanwhile a Wasps player to play in a League One match for Wanderers this season is now a 100/1 shot, which is the same odds they are offering for a Wanderers player to play in a Guinness Premiership match for Wasps.

And for Wanderers to change their home kit to the black and gold colours of the rugby club by the start of the 2010/11 season is just a 20/1 punt.

Finally, any punter who fancies Hayes to be celebrating a Guinness Grand Final victory and a League One title for Wanderers this season can get odds of 250/1.
