Wanderers and Wasps call stadium press conference

WANDERERS and Wasps have called a press conference for tomorrow at which they will discuss their plans for a new shared stadium.

The two clubs and Wycombe District Council have been working secretly behind the scenes on plans for the proposed £30m development at Booker Air Park, and tomorrow signals their first public announcement about the proposals.

The conference will outline the next steps in the process to find and develop a new Community Stadium in Wycombe.

Wanderers and Wasps owner Steve Hayes will be joined on the top table by Wycombe District Council leader Lesley Clarke, Wanderers chairman Ivor Beeks, Karen Satterford, chief executive of the council, Charles Brocklehurst, head of property services at the council and Mark Rigby, from Wycombe Sports Developments Limited and chairman of Wasps.

Meanwhile the council has underlined its committment to the plan by advertising for a Stadium Planning Project Officer with a salary between £38,000 and £44,000.

We have a community stadium its called the sports centre.it was invented for those in the community that dont like football.it gives them a chance to follow sport without getting cold and wet.We have adams park, invented for those that love the beautiful game.ok its drifted a bit from its moorings with rugby but I can tolerate that.We all ready have what the proposed stadium is about. So what is the point of building it

I suspect that the point of building it is to allow the associated development of masses of attached land.

A new stadium is not needed. That is self evident. Mr Hayes and Mr Beeks want the associated development opportunities, in my opinion.
