MARLOW rower Katherine Grainger will be chasing a fantastic hat-trick of World Cup golds this weekend, when she goes to Germany with the GB Rowing team.

Grainger teamed up with Anna Watkins to win gold in Slovenia and Germany in the women’s double scull, and the pair will hope to make it three in a row in Lucerne.

Grainer could actually take her medal haul from the World Cup Series to six as she and Watkins will again get out the doubles boat and into the quads, joining up with Beth Rodford and Annabel Vernon, also from Marlow.

The quads crew already have a gold and silver medal to their name this summer.

Meanwhile, Zac Purchase and Mark Hunter are also hoping to back up their gold winning performance in Munich in the men’s lightweight double scull.

It was the first time they raced together since storming to victory at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Meanwhile, Greg Searle will continue his comeback in the men’s eights.

The 1992 Barcelona Olympics winner has a gold and bronze from the two World Cups so far this summer, after returning to the sport ten years after retiring.
