A FORMER Wycombe Wanderers footballer has today been found guilty of murder by an Old Bailey jury.
Gavin Grant, who joined the Blues prior to the 2008-09 season, shot rival gang member Leon Labastide in the back in revenge for a raid on a friend's flat.
The 26-year-old striker was found guilty of the murder alongside Gareth Downie, 26.
Co-defendant Damian Williams, who turns 33 tomorrow, was convicted of conspiring to murder Mr Labastide, who was killed outside his mother's house on the Stonebridge Estate in north west London on May 23 2004.
The shooting had taken place as an act of revenge after Grant his friends formed the view Mr Labastide was responsible for trying to break into a friend's flat in Thurlby Close.
All three men are to be sentenced on Monday.
