A CHALFONT St Giles charity worker Lesley Hart is used to directing her own productions but she will admire the work of others this summer after winning tickets to the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.

Lesley, 57, earned the right to head to London 2012 after entering a competition run by sponsors P&G and will now witness the likes of triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt celebrate what they hope to be a successful Games in the capital.

Kim Gavin, the creative force behind ‘Take That’s’ acclaimed Circus tour, is responsible for the closing ceremony with designer Es Devlin and film composer and record producer David Arnold also in tow.

And while most can’t wait for the start of the Games, Lesley, who is directing her own production of the Sound of Music at the Curzon Centre in Beaconsfield in March, is itching for the end to arrive.

“I have performed in over 40 shows over the years and now I am making the most of my experience and am directing,” said Lesley – of Barrington Park Gardens.

“And I didn’t think the email saying I had won tickets was genuine when I saw it – I thought it was spam but I am really thrilled to be going.

“Once I found out what it was, I realised what a fantastic prize it is – it is a once in a lifetime opportunity – and it will be great to experience it all.”

Lesley has won four tickets courtesy of P&G and will treat her boyfriend Joe and good friends John and Jill Gray to the experience of a lifetime at London 2012.

“I’m guessing it will last around about an hour-and-a-half and hopefully the Games have been a success and there will be a great atmosphere.

“If I am honest football is my thing and I have supported Watford for a good few years but I love sport and the Olympics so it should be a great day.”
