Watson hopeful on Blues deal
3:36pm Monday 23rd July 2012 in Sport By Andy Carswell
Karlton Watson featured as a trialist for Wanderers against Staines
KARLTON Watson is hopeful of landing a deal with Wycombe Wanderers after featuring as a trialist on Saturday.
He put in a solid display as he played the full 90 minutes against Staines Town and could be included in the squad that plays at Windsor this evening.
Watson tweeted after Saturday's match: "Nice full 90 under my belt. Very rusty but feel good. Only one way to go now."
And in a reply to a fan who said he hoped he had done enough to be given a contract he wrote: "Hope so too. Great club!"
Wanderers have announced that three trialists are set to play for them against a Windsor side managed by former Blues hero Keith Scott tonight.
They have not been named by the club but they could include Watson, who is looking to get his career back on track after being ravaged by injury.
He missed nearly 18 months of action with an ankle injury after being voted Nottingham Forest's Academy player of the year in 2010.
Watson had a spell at Lincoln City last season and also went on loan to Eastwood Town while with Forest.
Wanderers will once again field a side filled predominantly with youngsters in tonight's match, although first teamers Gareth Ainsworth, Grant Basey and Matt McClure are all included as well.
Kick off is at 7.30pm.
