"We owe the gaffer one on Saturday"

RICHARD Logan says he and his Wanderers team-mates owe manager Gary Waddock a performance after a poor showing against Brentford.

Blues ended their pre-season campaign with their worst result and performance as they slumped to a 4-1 defeat to the League One Bees.

Logan knows Wanderers have to improve on that if they're to pull off a shock result at Watford in the first round of the Capital One Cup tomorrow.

He said: "We let ourselves down on Tuesday night against Brentford. We all under performed so we owe the gaffer one on Saturday.

"It wasn't the best performance so hopefully on Saturday we can put it right."

It would be more correct to say "we owe the fans a performance" particularly after last year's abysmal displays. It's the fans that pay the money to come even in the worst of weathers. The gaffer is getting paid quite handsomely for glib replies about Stuart Beavon and the never ending post match comments "we played well but didn't get the result". What the fans want is to see real effort and results, the last 2 seasons have not been good enough, considering the players used and the wages paid, particularly to agents. No wonder the club is broke.
