CHARLIE Strutton could make his first professional appearance tonight after the former Chalfont St Peter man signed a new contract with AFC Wimbledon.

He is set to be included in the Dons' squad to face Stevenage in the Capital One Cup after manager Terry Brown praised his attitude - saying he would run through a brick wall for the team.

The 23-year-old was loaned to Maidenhead United last season immediately after signing for Wimbledon from the Saints.

Brown said: "He has worked incredibly hard and his fitness levels are now approaching a level that will allow him to give his best.

"Having looked at Charlie in training and in games, he has a massive will to win, and has a fantastic attitude. He would run through a brick wall for the team.

"He is a great finisher and goalscorers are a rare commodity. I am absolutely certain that he can play at this level and once he gets off the mark, I am sure that the goals will flow."
