TWO red cards and a missed penalty featured in Chesham United's first match of the season as they came from behind to claim an opening day win.

Both United and opponents St Neots were reduced to ten men as Chesham turned a one goal deficit into a 2-1 win.

Their newly-promoted opposition took the lead midway through the first half through Ben Mackey but the Generals were behind for just three minutes as Bruce Wilson slotted home Steve Wales' defence splitting pass.

Shortly before the break visiting keeper Michael Duggan was dismissed for handling outside the area, with Saints having to put an outfield player in goal.

That worked to Chesham's advantage as Chris Watters scored what proved to be the winner with a 25 yard strike.

But they gave St Neots the chance to level when debut making Daniel Braithwaite was also sent off for handling a goalbound shot on the line. The resulting penalty was missed however as former Aston Villa striker Stefan Moore blazed over the bar.
