PARK Lodge Ju-Jitsu maintained it’s reputation as a club to be reckoned with at the United Nations of Ju-Jitsu World Congress and Championships in Germany recently.
Flying the club’s colours, Greg Kelleher won a silver and bronze medal in his first year competing.
His silver came in continuous fighting before he added a bronze in the random attacks class.
The 18-year-old, who hopes to earn his 1st Dan black belt this month, said: “It was a brilliant trip away. The competitions were brilliant, but hard work and I’ve still got a couple of bruises – but so has the other guy.”
Sensei Holly Hudson, who runs the Bucks & Berks branches of Park Lodge, said: “I’m proud of Greg, he’s done fantastically, going off to this international competition as our only representative from our clubs.
“I have taught Greg since he was about 12 years old, and it’s great to see him metaphorically leave the nest – going to this major event to compete as an adult.”
