Wasps consortium want back-seat role

WASPS are going to identify the consortium that has taken over from Steve Hayes in 'the coming weeks'.

Former Wasps player Ken Moss put together the group that completed the deal last Friday, but his role at the club going forward – if any - is unclear.

Chairman Mark Rigby said: “We have a very small group of people who faith in the business to develop. They've got belief in what Dai Young has built.

“But they are back-seat investors. It's not unusual in business for people to be private about their involvement, and for the moment they want to remain private while we sort out board structure.

“It's the intention for that to be confirmed in the coming weeks, sooner rather than later, because it's only right that people who come and support the club know who owns the club.

“That's accepted in the Premiership.”
