Doherty thinks red card was harsh

Leon Johnson was sent off at Chesterfield on Saturday
LEON Johnson was unlucky to be sent off on Saturday, believes team mate Gary Doherty.
The defender was given his marching orders just ten minutes into the 3-1 defeat at Chesterfield after tangling with Spireites striker Marc Richards when he was through on goal.
But fellow central defender Doherty said: "I think Johnno's unlucky because he's running back and the lad's cut across him. I was round on the cover as well.
"It's a difficult one for the ref. Obviously he's in on goal so he's probably thought he's got to send him off. I thought it was a bit harsh to be honest.
"The lad's done great, he's cut across him, Johnno's still in full stride and brings him down."
Manager Gary Waddock said he had no complaints about the red card but Doherty added: "It could happen to anyone. If it happens on the halfway line to a midfielder you wouldn't even get a yellow card."
