Gary Waddock said changes will be made to the Wanderers team that faces Exeter
GARY Waddock says changes will be made to the Wanderers team that faces Exeter City tomorrow night.
The Blues boss said he will look to freshen things up as the long trip to Devon follows an energy-sapping display at Chesterfield.
Wanderers had to play for almost the entire game with ten men following the early red card dished out to defender Leon Johnson, who will miss tomorrow's game through suspension.
Waddock things changing things off the back of that, and the 180 mile trek to St James' Park, will be key if Blues are to end their winless run.
He said: "We have to freshen things up. Because we played with ten men for a large part of that game [against Chesterfield], we need to freshen the team up, and that's what will be done."
Skipper Gary Doherty meanwhile says an early opportunity to bounce back from Saturday's defeat will benefit Blues.
He said: "That's the good thing about football, we can put the disappointment behind us on Tuesday. They're in good form but we've got to take the positives from today. We played some good football but didn't get the result.
"We can look at the positives, we did pass the ball really well and a lot of the forward players had good games.
"Passing wise I think it's the best we've played this season. It was with ten men so that's the positive we can take into the game on Tuesday."
Blues will have to reshuffle the back four to cope with Johnson's enforced absence and Doherty said whoever plays in defence against the early season pacesetters will have to be more alert at set pieces.
The former Spurs man said: "We've got to defend better, particularly from set plays. We're conceding too many from set plays.
"We've been all right defensively - we've not been conceding many goals so today was definitely disappointing."
