Robinson tippped to start for Wasps

WASPS will hope that the Nick Robinson that runs out at Northampton tomorrow night is the Nick Robinson that came off the bench so impressively at Gloucester last week rather than the one who lost his way in bath.

The Welsh ten is a mercurial talent but his team-mates will be looking to him for assurance at Franklin's Gardens with Stephen Jones almost certainly ruled out with a stomach bug.

Director of rugby Dai Young said: “I've always said neither of them are going to play every game.

“Stephen's got a stomach bug so it's extremely doubtful he's going to be right. Even if we get him on the bench it would be something.

“But I thought Nick was really good last week and if Stephen's not right he will step in and I'm sure he'll want to keep the jersey for a couple of weeks at least.”
