BOOKMAKERS have suspended betting on who will become the next permanent manager of Wycombe Wanderers after a flurry of bets on Keith Scott.

Former Sheffield Wednesday and Scunthorpe boss Brian Laws was an early 4/1 favourite with Skybet, with Scott a 16/1 outsider.

But after scores of fans lumped on the former Blues legend to be handed the reins they slashed the odds so much Scott was all the way down to evens.

Now they've shut the book after receiving so many bets.

A Skybet spokesman told the Bucks Free Press: "We suspended betting on the next Wycombe Wanderers manager after a gamble on Keith Scott on Sunday. After we initially had him at 16/1 he was backed at all prices into even money."

Gary Megson, Sean Dyche and Paul Ince were all among the front runners for the job, according to Skybet.
