TIM Payne has been suspended for two weeks after striking an opponent with the knee.

Prop Payne pleaded guilty to the charge this week after being cited for striking Northampton's Vasily Artemyev.

He was yellow carded for his actions by referee Dave Pearson but will now be unavailable for Wasps' upcoming home matches against Worcester and Newport Gwent Dragons.

Director of rugby Dai Young said: "He's held his hand up and said there's things you regret doing, but we've got to get on with it.

"He's a seasoned campaigner and a big part of our pack. It's unfortunate because it was of our own doing and he's someone we are going to miss, there's no doubting that."
